Support Services for Persons with Developmental Disabilities
Listening Ear’s Community Based Residential Care provides an opportunity for persons with developmental disabilities who are at least 18 years of age to increase their independence. Individuals receive support and training in a group home residential setting or in a semi-independent living situation as determined by their person-centered plan.
Listening Ear has established a new Consumers Needs and Dream endowment fund to help consumers who require extra help achieving their health, employment, social and other goals.
Persons served must be referred by Community Mental Health and may reside in Antrim, Clare, Ionia, Isabella, or Kalkaska Counties. Services are available 24 hours every day. No fees except as determined by the referring agency.
Listening Ear strongly supports micro-enterprise opportunities for the people we serve. We encourage staff, family and community involvement, to ensure the success of each micro-enterprise and to maintain high standards and quality products. Some current micro-enterprise endeavors include but are not limited to: sales of cards, soaps, jewelry, plants and bird houses as well as services such as lawn care, office cleaning and paper shredding. If you would like additional information on the micro-enterprises supported by the Listening Ear agency, please feel free to contact us at (989) 773-6904 ext. 3241.
